Adverse possession ek controversial concept hai jisme koi person agar baaki sab conditions meet kare, to long, continuous, hostile possession se ownership claim kar sakta hai, even against original owner.

Basic requirement ye hoti hai ki possessor openly, as owner jaisa behave kare – boundary banaye, tax pay kare, property use kare – aur true owner ki permission ke bina. Ye possession uninterrupted ho aur law me specified period (often 12+ years type) tak chale.

Hidden, secret ya casual possession se adverse possession nahi banta. Tenant, licensee, caretaker – jinki entry originally permission se hui, unka time count different logic se hota hai.
