How Fundamental Rights Protect Ordinary Citizens in Daily Life

Constitutional Fundamental Rights koi theoretical concept nahi, yeh roz ki life me bhi kaam aate hain. Right to equality, freedom of speech, protection of life and personal liberty – sab direct shield ki tarah work karte hain jab State ya public authority unfair ho jaye.

Example ke liye, agar aapko bina proper legal basis ke police arrest kar leti hai, Article 22 aur Article 21 ke under aapko rights milte hain – jaise reason batana, lawyer se consult karna, 24 hours ke andar magistrate ke saamne produce karna. Yeh sirf books ka matter nahi, real protection hai.

Right to equality (Article 14) ensure karta hai ki government arbitrary decisions na le – chahe wo recruitment ho, tender ho, ya benefit schemes. Agar koi policy clearly discriminatory ya unreasonable ho, to courts usko strike down kar sakte hain.

Freedom of speech and expression ka matlab ye nahi ki kuch bhi bolo, but legitimate criticism, peaceful protest, press freedom sab isi se nikalte hain. Reasonable restrictions bhi diya gaya hai, jaise public order, defamation, etc.

Jab bhi government action aapke basic rights ko violate kare, aap writ petition ke through High Court ya Supreme Court approach kar sakte ho. Isi wajah se Fundamental Rights ko “heart and soul” of Constitution kaha gaya hai.
