Notarisation vs Registration: When Is Each Required for Legal Documents?

Log aksar notary ki stamp ko hi sabse bada legal proof samajh lete hain, lekin notarisation aur registration dono alag cheezein hain.

Notarisation ka meaning hai ki notary public verify karta hai ki sign karne wale person ne uske saamne sign kiya, identity roughly check ki, date certify ki. Yeh mainly authenticity support karta hai, but document ko necessarily strong property title nahi banata.

Registration, especially sub-registrar office me, kaafi higher level pe recognized process hai. Property sale deed, long-term leases, gift deeds etc. law ke hisaab se compulsorily registrable documents hain. Agar aise documents register na ho, to wo third parties ke against enforceable nahi hote, aur kabhi-kabhi void bhi maane ja sakte hain.

Notarised affidavit, declaration, power of attorney etc. useful hain, lekin jaha statute registration demand kare, waha notary alone enough nahi. Practical rule: title-transfer wali cheezein register; supporting/statement wali cheezein notarise.

Confusion ho to local lawyer ya document writer se poochna better hai before relying blindly on a stamp.
